הערב התארחנו בברבקיו במועדון היאכטות של קיטסילאנו - מקום דיי פלצני. חברה של חברים (S & B) חותרת שם, ולכן יכלה לארח.
הנוף היה נפלא, גם באור (שנמשך עד עשר!) וגם בחושך.

האוכל היה מצויין, והיין זרם כמים (וכך הג'ין אנד טוניק).
ובביקור בשירותים במקום, היו שם שני השלטים המצחיקים האלו:
במקרה שלנו, האמהות שלנו יכולות להיות גאות בנו. הורדנו את המים.

מחר הולכים להתנדב באירוע גאווה נוסף, ופרטים על כך בפוסט הבא (קצר, או מפוצל...)
לא יכולתי להתאפק... אני מניחה שהתכוונת לשלט של Google, אבל לי נתפסה העין דווקא ב-we're local, זה הזכיר לי קצת את ה-local shop של league of gentlemen...

השבמחקabout Kitislano Yacht Club. The members are down to earth, nice, normal people who you will meet every day on the street.
They take out to sail everyone who would like to sail. Everybody is welcome.

אני מתנצל אם השתמע שאנחנו חושבים שחברים במועדון מתנשאים.
מחקהשם של המקום נשמע מעט יומרני בעברית, אבל בוודאי שלא התכוונו לפגוע. המארחים שלנו היו נפלאים, וגם האנשים האחרים שפגשנו שם היו נעימים.
אנחנו לא בדיוק מהזן המפליג, אבל בהחלט נחשוב בכיוון!

The name is misleading, there are no Yachts there nowadays.
מחקAt most there are some small keelboats; most boat there are sailing dinghies
The "real" Vancouver Yacht Club (with actual Yachts) is in Point Grey, the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. Alas I am not rich enough to be a member there...
When the club was started, more than 75 years ago, there might have been Yachts around, so the name stuck, but who knows.
Anyway send a message to "tanisha" in tapuz if you want to try sailing, we sail on Thursday afternoon and we have dinner and drinks afterwards; it is open to everybody.
